韵律语法是语言学的一个新领域,其研究对象为韵律与音系、形态、句法、语体以及文体、文学等领域之间的互动。由北京语言大学语言科学院章黄学术理论研究所主办、旧金山大学文理学院语言、文学与文化系承办的“第九届韵律语法研究国际研讨会”,将于2023年7月14–16日在美国旧金山大学举行。会议诚挚邀请世界各国从事韵律语法研究的专家、同仁提交论文,共同探讨。

一、本届会议主题:汉语的语调与韵律结构

会议同时欢迎跟以下主题有关的投稿:

1. 韵律音系的共时、历时研究;

2. 韵律形态的共时、历时研究;

3. 韵律句法的共时、历时研究;

4. 韵律语体的共时、历时研究;

5. 韵律文学的共时、历时研究;

6. 韵律语法的类型学研究;

7. 韵律语体语法研究;

8. 韵律语法相关的声学研究;

9. 韵律语法相关的认知神经科学研究;

10. 第二语言韵律习得研究。

二、会议语言

会议语言:英文或者中文

三、论文摘要格式、提交方式与评审

1. 论文摘要的第一页须包括题目、关键词、论文所属领域、作者姓名(中文名字+汉语拼音)、工作单位、通讯地址、电子邮箱、联系电话等信息。

2. 第二页起为摘要正文(含题目),摘要内容须包括论文的观点、主要论据与论证。

3. 摘要语言为中文或者英文。中文标题请用小三号宋体,正文请用小四号宋体;英文标题请用16号Times New Roman字体,正文请用12号Times New Roman字体。标题与正文间空一行,单倍行距。摘要长度不超过一页纸,不包括参考文献。

4. 提交的摘要文件请用以下格式命名:“ICPG9_第一作者姓名_第一作者单位”,例如:ICPG9_冯胜利_北京语言大学,or  ICPG9_ShengliFeng_BLCU。

5. 请将摘要一式两份(Microsoft Word和PDF文档各一份)发至会务组邮箱icpg9USF@gmail.com。电子邮件题目请标明“ICPG9+第一作者姓名+第一作者单位”。本届会议不接受其他方式的投稿。

6. 每人可提交一篇作为独立作者或第一作者的论文摘要,同时还可以作为非第一作者提交另一篇摘要。

7. 本届会议采用同行匿名评审制度,每份摘要均由至少两位同行匿名评审。

四、韵律语法青年学者论文奖

本届会议将继续设立2–3名“韵律语法青年学者论文奖”。申请该奖的论文,全部作者需为副教授以下(不含)且年龄不超过40岁的青年学者或在读硕士、博士研究生。获奖论文将优先发表于韵律语法研究专业刊物《韵律语法研究》。申请者请于2023年3月1日前,将论文全文发至会务组邮箱icpg9USF@gmail.com,邮件题目请标明“青年奖评选+第一作者姓名+第一作者单位”。会务组将于2023年4月1日前以电子邮件的方式通知入围作者。

五、重要日期(以美国西部时间为准)

1. 论文摘要及论文奖全文提交截止日期:2023年3月1日

2. 论文摘要接受电邮通知:2023年4月1日

3. 会议举办日期:2023年7月14–16日

六、注册、费用及住宿

1. 会议注册方式、赴美签证及住宿信息将在二号通知里说明。

2. 美国以外的参会学者如需申请赴美签证,会务组将提供邀请函。

3. 会务费:120美元,全职学生60美元(凭学生证明),注册费收取后概不退还。

4. 会议提供7月15、16日午餐、7月15日晚餐,以及会议期间的咖啡茶点。

5. 住宿及往返交通费用需与会者自理。

The Ninth International Conference of Prosodic Grammar (ICPG-9)

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

July 14 – 16, 2023

University of San Francisco, San Francisco, U.S.A.

We are pleased to announce the call for proposals for the 9th International Conference on Prosodic Grammar, which will take place on July 14-16, 2023, at University of San Francisco. Authors are invited to submit proposals on substantial, original, and unpublished research in the study of prosodic grammar. The theme of the conference is “Chinese Intonation and Prosodic Structure”. Proposals related to this theme are especially encouraged, but we welcome submissions in any areas of prosodic grammar, including, but not limited to, the following:

1. Synchronic and diachronic studies of prosodic phonology

2. Synchronic and diachronic studies of prosodic morphology

3. Synchronic and diachronic studies of prosodic syntax

4. Synchronic and diachronic studies of prosodic register grammar

5. Synchronic and diachronic studies of prosodic literature

6. Typological studies of prosodic grammar

7. Stylistic studies of prosodic grammar

8. Acoustic studies in prosodic grammar

9. Neuro-cognitive studies in prosodic grammar

10. Prosodic studies in second language acquisition

ABSTRACT FORMAT

● The first page of the abstract should include the following information: the title, key words, research area, name(s) of the author(s) (in Chinese plus the pinyin romanization), affiliation(s), work address(es), email address and contact phone number.

● The second page should contain the title and the body of the abstract. The abstract is expected to include the proposal, main evidence, and the analysis.

● Abstracts should be written in English or Chinese, singled-spaced, with one empty line between the title and the body.

For English: Use Times New Roman font, 16 point for the title and 12 point for the body;

For Chinese: Use SongTi or SimSun font, “small size 3” for the title and “small size 4” for the body.

● The body of the abstract is limited to one page (letter size or A4, with at least 1 inch or 2.5 cm margins on all sides), excluding examples and selected references.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

● Abstracts should be submitted in two files – a word document and a PDF – to the conference email at icpg9USF@gmail.com. Please include “ICPG9 First Author Name and Affiliation” in the email subject line,.

●Please use the following naming convention: ICPG9_FirstAuthorName_Affiliation.docx and ICPG9_FirstAuthorName_Affiliation.pdf.

● Each author is allowed to submit one single-authored or first-authored abstract, in addition to another joint-authored abstract.

● All submitted abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by at least two experts in the field.

THE YOUNG SCHOLAR AWARD FOR PROSODIC GRAMMAR

Following the precedent in previous conferences, this year’s conference will continue to invite submissions of full papers by young scholars to compete for the “Young Scholar Award for Prosodic Grammar”. To qualify for the award, the applicants must be under 40 and have not yet been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. Students in a Master’s or Doctoral programs are also eligible. Award-winning papers will be recommendation for publication in Studies in Prosodic Grammar. Applicants competing for the award should send their full papers to the conference email at icpg9USF@gmail.com by March 1, 2023 and indicate in the email subject line: YSAward First Author Name and Affiliation. Notifications of acceptance will be emailed no later than April 1, 2023.

REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATIONS

● Registration fee: US$120. Full-time student rate is US$60. Current student ID is required to receive the discounted rate. The registration fee will not be refunded.

● The registration fee will cover lunches on July 15 and 16, dinner on July 15, and light refreshments throughout the conference.

● Participants of the conference are expected to arrange lodging and travel on their own. Information about accommodations will be shared on the conference website later.
